 THE WORKSHOP

Nationally known painter and instructor Olivia Marie Braida will introduce the secret techniques of the master botanical artists.  Students will work on individual exercises and then apply these techniques on their own plant portrait.  Students will also have an opportunity to study different methods of drawing leaves in graphite, colored pencil, or watercolor.  This workshop can spill over into the second week, or students who would like to take both workshops will have time to draw, or redesign plant portraits from live specimens or from copies of master works.

In her workshops, Olivia encourages and guides each student/artist to develop their skills. Students are encouraged to bring work they have done on their own for individual critique and guidance. Students will receive a package of course materials and a starter kit of supplies specific to this workshop. Artists of all levels are welcome.  Students already enrolled in the Academy can use this workshop to focus on a specific course, or work with the program as an elective.
